How We Got Started:
Located in the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center, August Avery opened its doors in 2008. Owner and founder, Chad Salenius, began frequent travels to China in 2003 while working in the exporting business, which is where he first fell in love with the beauty and simplicity of Asian antiques. Chad opened a retail store from 2006 to 2008 featuring his antiques that were brought over directly from China. His desire and appreciation for the highest quality antiques brought him to ADAC in late 2008. With an eye for quality and authenticity, Chad strives to hand select pieces that convey the original beauty of Asian antiques.

Who We Are:
August Avery offers a wide variety of Asian antiques and accessories that are hand selected from several provinces around China. Each piece is selected and kept in as original condition as possible. Asian antiques have a misconception that they are busy are overly detailed. August Avery features pieces that are far more simplistic and clean lined, and could easily meld into any design style.

What We Do:
Antiques is the core of August Avery, but we also offer a custom upholstery line, custom wood furniture by two talented furniture designers and a range of silk lighting called “Aqua Creations”. This fusion of old and new creates a sense of balance between history and modernism. We also carry a line of Italian leather sofas, sectionals, club chairs and dining chairs, as well as artwork from various artists.
